Gracia Emanuela Sprok

Gracia Emanuela Sprok (b. 18th century). She was an Afro-Surinamese woman who fought for her freedom in the Netherlands. Originally enslaved, she successfully sued for her emancipation in 1795, making her one of the few known Black women in Dutch history to legally challenge slavery and win.

Anton de Kim

Cudjoe Kazoola Lewis

Cudjoe Kazoola Lewis(c. 1841 – July 1935), born Oluale Kossola, and also known as Cudjo Lewis, was the third-to-last adult survivor of the Atlantic slave trade between Africa and the United States. Together with 115 other African captives, he was brought to the United States on board the ship Clotilda in 1860.
