Gang of Four aka the Harlem Clubhouse was a Black political coalition from Harlem who climbed the political ranks. J. Raymond Jones helped the members: David Dinkins, Percy Sutton, Charles Rangel, and Basil Patterson.

Someone else for a day

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why? I would be Snoop Dog. He currently seems omnipresent and I would like to see what that level of celebrity feels like for a day.

Basil A. Paterson

Basil A. Paterson 1926-2014. Lawyer and politician. In 1972 he became the first elected Black Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Along with David Dinkins, Percy Sutton, and Charles Rangel, he was a leader of the influential Gang of Four (also known as the “Harlem Clubhouse”)

DIY PROJECT

Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on. When I was a teenager I repaired our frost free freezer by talking to my father via telephone and describing the schematic diagram on the door panel. As an adult recently I installed a bidet.
