Audra McDonald has become the most Tony-nominated performer in history, securing her 11th career nomination.

McDonald earned a nomination for Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Rose in the revival of “Gypsy.” She is the first Black woman to play the role in a Broadway production.

She is also the only person to win a Tony in all four acting categories — Lead Actress in a Play, Lead Actress in a Musical, Featured Actress in a Play and Featured Actress in a Musical.
