He was banned from boxing and stripped of his title for 4 years after his conviction of draft evasion.

He fathered 9 children.

He lived and died in the Phoenix area.

He won his gold medal as a light heavyweight.

His passport was revoked after his conviction so he could not travel outside of the United States.

Ali means “most high”.

Muhammad means “the most praised one”.

Martin Luther King supported him for his stand on being a conscientious objector.
